At Shepard Pain and Performance Care, we use evidence-based treatment methods. That means our treatment methods have been researched and there is significant evidence showing they are effective. We use “consistent scientific evidence showing that [our treatments] improve client outcomes” (Drake et al., 2001, p. 180).

More specifically to me (Dr. Shepard) evidence-based means an approach, framework, collection of ideas or concepts, adopted principles and strategies supported by research to serve patients with complex problems.

Why do we only use evidence-based treatment? Because we want you to see results. Because we want you to be able to reach your treatment goals. It is a core value of our clinic, starting from brick one.

Everyone deserves an approach that finds and treats the root cause of the problem. We aren’t interested in using a cookie cutter approach, treating every patient the same way. Each problem is different. Each person is different. Every treatment plan needs to be customized to that individual and to that problem. And all the treatment methods used should have research backing up their effectiveness.

Wouldn’t you like to know that your physician is using methods proven by non-biased research?

If you’re curious about our evidence-based therapies, please stop by our office. We’d be happy to answer any of your questions.
